Hello! My name is Nathan and I am currently employed at Finger Lakes Health as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I believe that the skills and experiences I have gained at my current job, as well as experiences prior such as running an orphan home for boys with developmental disabilities in India for over a year, running the nursery at my church for three years, and working as a counselor at a summer camp for adults with special needs for five summers have equipped me with the skills and knowledge to create a safe and fun environment to allow children of all abilities to grow and flourish. In these previous roles, I have developed skills that allow me to be patient and flexible, working with children of varying abilities. I have learned skills to assist children through coping strategies to help them regulate their emotions as they go about their daily Read more activities. I have spent extensive time in direct, personal care of kids with developmental disabilities, assisting them with homework, hygiene, chores, feeding, schooling, and behavioral coping strategies. I have instructed, motivated, safeguarded and assisted patients at Finger Lakes Health as they participate in exercises, neurological re-education, and functional activities for various diagnoses such as strokes, cerebral palsy, amputations, and dementia patients.
