Hello Families! Quick education/ broad stroke of experiences- I have a BS in Art Ed, an AS in Accounting, I have worked in the service industry seasonally for 10+ years, a local daycare center in 2009, a full time private Nanny for a little girl from the time she was 3 months to about 4 years (her mother worked from home and we had/ have a great relationship), private bookkeeper, various retail and corporate office positions. Right now I am working on starting up my own art-based business and I am seeking a steady, part time position with a sweet little family as a supplement. My hope is to work around 3 days a week (weekends or work week), around 8 hours per day. This is my ideal but pay and hours are absolutely negotiable for the right fit. I am comfortable with making meals, light housework, occasional driving (previously Read more I took the child I cared for to story time at the library/ Dewitt park, playgrounds, the Science Center, Cornell Art Museum, etc- roughly on a bi-weekly basis.) I did take a child CPR course with the Mother of the last family I worked with and would be open to a refresher. I'd be glad to discuss anything else you might have in mind. I am proactive and have a very strong work ethic- it is important to me that the parents I work for are comfortable and confident with leaving their children in my care. I am very flexible to your philosophies and glad to learn any methods you'd prefer. By default I am a very engaged caregiver and work hard to foster independence and confidence in the children I work with. As for my time with children- I enjoy getting on level with them and allowing them the space to be active, silly and creative. I enjoy working with all age groups, infant to adolescent. I really enjoyed working one on one with the child in my first nannying position but I am open to the right small family.
