Hi! I'm a nanny living in the Hempstead area. I'm looking to work with a family that needs a summer sitter. I'd like to find a regular part-time position. I'm also open intermittent work as well. A little bit about my experience: I have extensive experience with a wide age group. My first childcare position was working in a daycare facility where I cared for infants as young as 6 weeks old, up to kids 4 years of age. Since then I have worked privately with families as both an occasional sitter and a nanny that have children mostly in the elementary school age. My Work Philosophy: I do believe this can be one of the most rewarding jobs out there. I truly enjoy being an extension to your family's childcare needs and goals. I love laughing and playing with your child, but also want to make sure they have Read more the structure they need to continue learning and growing. You could say that I'm loving, but firm. To be candid, I have experienced both sides of the coin when it comes to a Nanny relationship that works and one that doesn't. Both have taught me a great deal about what most benefits the child. My ideal situation is when there is an open dialogue between myself and the parent(s). In a nut shell, I want to give your child consistency, including the rules you implement, the repercussions for breaking the rules, the homework, and the schedule. I have found that when the children know that the parents and I are on the same page, they respond much better to having a new caregiver. At the end of the day, I want what you want, for your child to be taken care of in a loving environment. The Extras: Making sure the children are taken care of is always my number one priority, but I also like to treat the parents to a cleaner home when the schedule permits. Basically this means that if there is a nap time or the older children are fed, showered, and have completed their homework; I take that extra time to pick up around the house and do the dishes. I get that every little bit helps, and any time I can help lighten the load, I will.
