Meet Laura

• Comfortable with pets

First and foremost, I love kids! Since I was little myself I've been a nurturer and was trusted at a young age to look after my siblings and neighbors. I nannied 2 young gals in San Francisco where I went to college, and watching them grow into awe-inspiring young women was very rewarding. I also taught children's gymnastics at San Francisco Gymnastics Academy in the Presidio. I spent 11 years as a high-level gymnast when I was young, training for the olympics, in fact. I never lost a love for the sport and found coaching young kids (from early toddlers to early-teens at a competitive level) to be fun and fulfilling -- and I know I helped t hem in many aspects of life. I did summer camps there where I was responsible for as many as 10 young kids at a time, of all ages, and we always had Read more fun. Since moving back to New York, I spent a short amount of time coaching at Flach Gymnastics and have also volunteered with the Perfect Ten - an AMAZING NPO that supports underprivileged young girls in Hudson, providing them with the resources that'll help them thrive under challenging circumstances. I have been very present in the lives of my friends and family's children, ranging from 5 months to 5 years old! They always remind me that I am their favorite, and I am crazy about them, too. We even have weekly face-time dates where they catch me up on school, swimming, gymnastics, and ballet! I know all of their stuffed animals names and personalities quite well at this point, too. I am 35 years old and originally from California, but I have lived all over the country and even abroad in France for a year! As mentioned, I own a fashion boutique in Hudson called UNRACKED (with fairly flexible weekday hours and a small team that supports me in the store. A lot of the business side of things I work on in the evenings. I like to stay busy. :) I am very reliable, though, and won't overextend myself. I am responsible, a great communicator, am able to apply whatever learning and childcare styles and approaches you feel are best for your child or children. I love being around and working with kids of all ages and am hoping to find something part-time to support your busy life and help your little one have some fun...whatever whatever that may entail!
