Lila L.

Lila is currently working for us, and we are very sad to have to part with her. She’s been with us for close to four years, caring for our two girls full time. She has many years of experience caring for children and it shows through her warmth and intuition. She always arrives early unless there is a problem with the trains, then she always texts to let us know. She helped with many milestones including transitioning to solids, napping, potty training, first words, counting, etc. She also helped with things around the house like doing the dishes, taking out the trash and recycling, doing the kids’ laundry and vacuuming. She is reliable and engaging, and I’ve had many people tell me how great Lila is with the kids. She took our daughter to the library, play dates and My Gym for playtime. She’s always attentive and is never on the phone or doing things for herself when she is with the children. She’s also extremely conscientious about cleanliness, and even changes clothes when she arrives to care for our children — something that may be more valuable to you during the pandemic. She was very committed to our family even through an extended hospital stay with one of our children. She truly loves our children like her own, and always had a gentle demeanor with them. Any family would be lucky to hire her.

It is my honor to write a review for Lila. She is, simply, the best nanny I could possibly imagine. She worked full-time with my family for the past two years, helping raise our wonderful daughter until the time came for us to move to New Jersey. We wish Lila would have been able to stay with us, but the commute was too difficult. We miss her every day. Lila is the definition of caring, smart, dedicated and professional. She has all the bases covered: great communication, promptness, loads of experience, makes your children feel safe and happy, makes you feel comfortable leaving your precious little ones in her care. Not a day passed when I didn't feel reassured knowing she was with us. My wife and I are both classic Manhattan type-A career folks (she a lawyer and me a magazine editor), so it was very hard for us to relinquish control of childcare to someone new. Lila passed every bit of scrutiny, and exceeded expectations. She taught us so much about how to raise a child, made us feel comfortable, and quite frankly made the experience of being a new parent much less daunting. Lila comes from a wonderful family, and she's stable, reliable and a wonderful influence. She is not the kind of nanny who gets distracted, or spends time on her phone. She will watch your children like a hawk and care for them like they are her own. Lila actively encourages children to explore, and have a wide range of experiences, without over-stressing them. She took our daughter to classes, museums, book stores, playgrounds, play dates, doctor visits, and so much more. There's nothing she can't do. This woman is like a super hero to me, and my family will be forever in her debt for the incredible two years we had with her.
