I knew from a little girl a caregiver and/or care provider would be a job that best suited me, being someone that always puts others before myself. My experience with children began back at the age of 15 while I took on a 5-day a week babysitting position for a local veterinarian and his wife. This consisted of watching their two children, ages 5 and 8, and more often than not a couple of their playmates as well. With this job also came light house work, meal preparation for the children, supervision in the swimming pool, on bicycles, and even supervision visiting their horses in their barn. I gave this babysitting job up when I became a waitress at Lanzi's Lakeside Tavern. My senior year of high school I took part in a well-respected called "New Visions". This was a program for those students with a 90 GPA or higher Read more who were looking to obtain a job in the medical field or those that go hand-in-hand. I took part in this program for those exact reasons, wanting to go into a field specialized in working with children, in a non-clinical area, such as mental health, social services, or child advocacy. Through this time i gained much more experience working with children, especially those will illness. Besides student-professional experience, I am acustomed to watching and caring for my sister's child who is now 2 years old, my brothers child who is also two, and babysitting daily for a family friend who's daughter is now 3 months old.
