Before shifting my focus to Art Education, I spent my professional career in the New York City gallery community. After graduating with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with my B.F.A., I worked with contemporary artists, learning about different materials and methods. My involvement with two non-profit art education organizations, Camp Kayak and Free Arts NYC, sparked my curiosity in how children problem solve and learn through the art making process. I received my MA in Arts and Art Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and over the summer I ran the Arts Program at The Dalton School Summer Day Camp for children ages 5-10. I am sensitive to diverse learning styles. I have babysat for babies as young as 6 months and tutored children as old as 13 years. I am a native New Yorker so I am comfortable with transportation in the city. I also love to Read more cook and bake fresh foods so if that is something you or your child might be interested in I would love to help out with that as well.
