Meet Clara

Hello, it is amazing to meet you all. I am excited to be part of this site, amongst other great sitters and nannies. I began as a nanny and housekeeper for two lovely infant girls in 1988 when I moved to New York City from Ecuador. One was three months of age and her sister was only recently born. I took care of them for 10 years, while also cleaning the household and running errands for the family. Amazingly, I am still incredibly close with the two girls I first sat and we spend time together. I am grateful for this first experience. Working with them, I taught them Spanish while the girls helped me better my English, and I learned the value of knowing their interests. Through these initial 10 years, I learned to take them to museums and to educational places like zoos and art classes. Overall, I have been a nanny and housekeeper for five families throughout the city, watching over a total of ten incredible children. Most since they have been born and up to 10 years of age. At the moment, I am nanny for an 8 year old and 4 year old since the 8 year old was 2 and caring for the 4 year old since he was born. Like all my previous families, I take them to school and pick them up, take them to sports programs like soccer, tennis and karate, and to art programs like painting and pottery. We go to museums and take trips. I love to cook any and every meal for children, as well as baking together. We love to conduct play dates with other children and nannies. At the moment, I would love to take care of infants and or toddlers. Though I am a nanny, I am also mother of three grown up women, a grandmother to five children whom I have helped raised since birth. I am useful at sleep training and taking care of infants and toddlers. I can make any food, run any errand, and do any household chores like laundry and cleaning.
