Hi! My name is Nora Davis and I currently reside in Manhattan. Originally from Los Angeles, California, I am a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College where I studied child development, theater, and music. After graduating from college I moved back to LA and started working at Step by Step in Santa Monica, a pre-school dedicated to working primarily with special needs children. I recently graduated from Columbia University with a master's in social work, where I contined studies in child development and mental health. For several years, I have worked full-time and part-time as a nanny in New York. I have experience with children of all ages, ranging from infants to adolescents. I love working with children. It is one of my greatest passions. I especially love the opportunity to be creative, adventurous and playful while maintaining respectful boundaries. We waited while Nora went through a lengthy application process for this position. Weeks later, at the very end of the process, I contacted her because I did not receive word that she completed the last requirement and was approved for the job. Only when I contacted her did I find out that she decided to leave town for a month and also that she registered full-time for school and consequently would not be available for this job. This was a big disappointment as she did not even give me a heads up so I could find someone else and get the process going, leaving me without staff indefinitely, causing much stress and grief.
