Hi there, my name is Lindsey! I am an outgoing, fun, and caring person that has always had a passion for working with children. Throughout my years, I have had various experiences in childcare. I started off babysitting, but my experience never came to a halt after that. I continued on to lead before and after school programs through the YMCA where most of our activities were centered around educational fulfillment. Through the YMCA I also became a summer camp counselor taking part in the responsibility of looking after a camp of nearly 300 children. I also volunteered my time with the CASA, where I acted as a court appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children. I also spent some time working as a KinderCare Site Director for another before and after school program. My most recent relevant position has been as a mental health clinician in a psychiatric Read more unit. This position has made me very familiar with working long hours in an environment that requires high energy and continual attentiveness. That being said, I feel confident that I would be able to give any child the attention they deserve. This position also gives the educational element, as we spend Monday-Friday imitating school, where we hope the kids would be if they were not in the hospital. I am certain I would have the ability to make any child feel engaged, accepted, and cared for. Today, all of my days at work are spent in an attempt to bring happiness out in those around me. Working with children that come in most often because they are lacking some sort of social nourishment gives me the extra motivation to ensure I am a positive addition to their lives. I have learned a great deal in all the roles I have played and always hope to continue that learning and growing. Although I feel it is my experience that sets me aside, I also hold a bachelors degree in health and human services of which child development and psychology were my main focus. All in all, I am always looking for new and fun things to do and see, and most all of my free time is spent adventuring and exposing myself to new experiences. If I am encouraged to do that from day to day in the process of helping a little one grow and develop, I will consider myself very lucky. When it comes to providing the young and impressionable a safe and supportive role model, I truly feel I have the background and passion to be successful.
