I enjoy caring for kids and teaching more than anything else I have tried in my life. I was so incredibly lucky to have many outstanding caregivers in my childhood as well as now in my adult life. I am a product of dream pushers, lovers and huggers. Nothing feels as wonderful as encouragement and honest support. This is what I want to give to the world. I have worked at two different summer camps in upstate New York and Minnesota, as a counselor, swim instructor and lifeguard, for a total of 4 summers. I directed an after school program and oversaw 40-50 kindergarten- 2nd grade students daily for 3 years. I planned exciting and fun daily activities and ensured the safety of each child. For the past year I have been teaching ninth grade English in a diverse, suburban high school. I'm in love with teaching literature, writing and Read more the human experience to students of many different backgrounds and experiences. As a teacher I give care to 140 students daily and push them to do the best they can while helping them form empathy for others. Though teaching is definitely a passion of mine, my biggest dream (since I was 10 years old) has always been to live in New York City. I'm proud to say that I am finally making that dream a reality.
