Hello! My name is Jessica and I am a British mother of two wonderful children, now college students aged 21 and 20. Bringing my son and daughter up has been the best part of my life and I'm so proud of the wonderful young adults that they've become! I have been a full-time nanny in England for 10 years (1981-91), stopping only to get married and to have a family of my own. I have looked after children as young as new-born (twins) and as old as 12. I have mostly worked sole-charge but have also worked with other 'family-staff' and alongside stay-at-home mums. Having worked in retail since moving to the U.S, I have recently moved to the city and would love to return to childcare and find a lovely family to become a part of! Having an inquiring mind myself, I love sharing in their experiences as they explore our world, whether through books and play or museums and classes, and believe that play is as important as structure. I like reading with the children, playing make believe (we're never too old!), arts and crafts, puzzles and games, singing and music, playing in the garden or taking trips to the park, play dates and days out. Babysitting is something I really love because every day is different and new, and it’s an amazing experience, being a part of a child life and watching them learn and grow as a person. I am looking for full-time but can be flexible with the hours, including staying late, if necessary. I am also available for evening and weekend babysitting, including ‘last-minutes’ or ‘one-offs’. I am certified in First Aid and Infant/Child CPR. I don't drive in the city but am extremely comfortable in navigating the city via public transport. I am a loving, gentle, creative, and engaging nanny with a ‘can-do’ attitude, and if you are also looking for someone who is responsible, reliable but flexible, calm under pressure and mature, with more than a few years of 'life experience', that's me.
