My husband and I are recently moved to New York City from Alabama in pursuit of an acting career. I would love to find a job that will utilize my talents as well as allow me to contribute to my family's financial stability. Through my world experiences I believe I am an ideal candidate for a nanny position. During my middle school and high school career, I worked vacation bible schools with my church, assisted in day camps, and babysat regularly. The summer going into my freshman year of high school I became a nanny for a family with two young girls. They quickly became dear to my heart and I continued the job for seven years. During that time I built a special bond with the girls I cared for. I taught them how to swim, took them for their first hair cuts, watched them learn how to walk, Read more encouraged them when others were mean, went to recitals, took them on fun outings like blueberry picking and botanical garden trips, and watched over them like they were my own. I have watched these girls grow up and still keep in touch with them even though we live in different states. Throughout my college career I had the privilege of participating in the Miss America System and represented my state at the national pageant as Miss Alabama. During this time I was given incredible opportunities to mentor young children through various appearances at schools, churches, clubs, and hospitals. These experiences have prepared me to care for children, assist them in activities and hobbies, be a role model, and most importantly build relationships. I feel that is what being a nanny is all about. You are not clocking in to a job, and meeting the expectations of your job description. You invest in the lives of those you are watching over and in turn you become a part of it. I truly love children and hope to have some of my own one day!
