Hi, my name is Dustin. Growing up I always had a wild and immersive imagination. I was quite the observer. I have an older brother who was rather rambunctious, but the perfect kid to watch and explore with. I enjoyed trading toys with my friends, running around with my Jessie from Toy Story action figure, and singing at the top of my lungs. Once I knew how to talk, I would not stop. I enjoyed building legos, and painting with my grand mother. In May of 2020, I graduated from Oklahoma City University with a BFA in Acting. Throughout my college experience, I developed a deeper sense of emotional intelligence and creative drive. I cultivated my own photography business. I put my focus toward portrait photography and I take headshots, graduation pictures, and especially creative portraits with my own spin. My time there was also spent with the Oklahoma Children's Read more Theatre where I worked at the summer and winter camps, working with children ages 5-14. I fostered a creative space for children to explore themselves and develop skills based in the theatrical arts and beyond. I helped campers learn a bit of photoshop, working in the red room photography studio, learning about science, art, and of course writing plays every week! Aside from my summer at the Oklahoma Children's Theatre, I was a lifeguard for two summers at the Sandy Lake Amusement park located in my hometown in Texas. My most recent position was at the Pediatrics Plus developmental preschool. This opportunity opened up many new doors of knowledge when it comes to my experience with children. It really sparked a deeper joy I have in early childhood education and one-on-one caregiving. At Pediatrics Plus, I worked one-on-one with 2-3 year olds from a wide variety of neurodiverse backgrounds as they develop their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive development, and emotional intelligence. I worked with children who qualify for either occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, and behavioral therapy. These children completely changed my life and I am so grateful to have witnessed their growth. It instilled in me a lot more confidence in myself and love for others. I am a huge advocate for conscious, caring, and supportive male care providers. I believe it is very beneficial for all parties involved.
