I have many years in both the public and private sectors working with children as well as a nearly completed graduate degree ( shy of clinical hours) in Early Childhood Development but it was only after i became a Mother myself that I was able to really understand how important that collaboration between Nanny and parents are and how crucial that relationship is to working successfully for private families i am a teacher by nature and a lover of indoor and outdoor activities and I strongly believe in finding the teachable moments in all activities. I have also been a teacher and a private tutor I am primarily a Nanny but in the last 10 years I have also become more of a Nanny/Household manager I know how important it is for us parents to feel our children are in the next best capable hands after our own. i also Read more know how important it is to become an adjunct member of the family while instinctively knowing when to fade into the background and be a Supoort. I work collaboratively with parents but absolutely know how to take initiative i am good at caring for and learning all the particular nuances of that family in order to make a seamless transition into becoming a reliable source of help. i have a wonderful sense of humor and compassion both of which has made it easy for children to bond with me, I’m still quite close to all the long term families I have Nannied for I am familiar and have expertise in many different modalities of parenting and I amenable to whatever the parent needs. I always tell families that I think supporting the efforts and wishes of the parents are the most important aspect of the position. Nannies are entrusted by parents to care for their children in the way that makes that particular family comfortable My compassion and empathy and patience is a natural instinct with Children I work collaboratively with the parent but of course know when to take initiative I have an entire repertoire of tricks to deescalate children and refocus them on positive solution based ideas while also validating for them and helping them understand and articulate their feelings. I help teach kids learn how to use their words I am hardworking and dependable and i can be relied upon to go above and beyond what is expected of me as a Nanny. i am a problem solver and endlessly resourceful.
