Hi, Nice to meet you. My name is Alicia and I am a 28 year old artist . I am great with children, kind, patient, creative, caring, silly, enthusiastic, energetic, loving, humorous, easy-going, reliable, and punctual young woman. Babysitting Experience: my longest relationship has been with a family who has two little boys. I have had the pleasure of babysitting them on-and-off over the years from when they were ages 2 and 4, to ages 9 and 11. I served as an assistant camp counselor to the three and fours year-olds at the Chataqua Children's School Summer Camp in 2000 and 2001. I spent the Summer in 2013 co-teaching a first grade class at BECA-a bilingual school in Honduras. Additionally, I tutored one 5 and one 7 year old in basic math, and one 11 year old in pre-algebra. My experiences in babysitting have been varied, I have dropped-off/picked-up children Read more at school, and have taken them to classes or friends homes for playdates, I have traveled (across country) with families and their children, assisted with schoolwork and tutored, and taught at a school, I have participated in activities with them like horseback riding and hiking, and creating original musicals and plays. My wealth of experience in the arts is a passion of mine that I would be thrilled to share with your children if you like and if they are amenable. I get along easily with children because of my artistic personality and incessant curiosity and my ability to engage with kids on their level; in play, becoming a peer and fulling engaging in pretend play like a kid myself, engaging in Children's educational programming with them and making them feel understood. I approach life a bit like a kid myself: with an open heart and mind, enthusiasm and energy, a passion for learning and understanding, and an insatiable (intellectual) curiosity. A side note: I have taken courses in child psychology and development psychology, etc. but my favorite class was the psychology of Children's literature. I really have a great love and appreciation for children and their unique experience. My array of interests is quite diverse: from science to history to art to film to food to crafts to music ...the list goes on and on. I am a wonderful babysitter who will undoubtedly find areas of interest to share with your child while we explore and venture into new learning areas and into a new friendship.
