Hi I’m Sophia! I’m a grad student currently attending SBU to get my MBA! I just graduated in 2025 with a Bachelors of Science in Business and Psychology. I am American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certified for Infants, Children, and Adults. I’ve had 5 years paid experience in childcare starting as a mother’s helper, to babysitter, to nanny. Over the past 5 years I’ve worked with several different families. I started working at my university’s child care Infant-Toddler Room in January 2022 in which I assist with taking care of 15 children ranging from 3 months to 3 years old! Through the daycare, I have acquired several different types of skills through mandated trainings, like allergy awareness and safe sleep. I have travel nanny experience with two different families caring for their infants (6mo and 8mo). I also have a handful of families that I occasionally babysit for! I'm very creative and passionate about art, I love to think out of the box and come up with new crafts and developmentally appropriate activities! I also had the amazing opportunity to be an early literacy specialist for the Parent-Child Home program, an international network of program sites that provides low-income families with the necessary skills and tools to ensure their children thrive. I also assist with driving her to outside services and school. The mom just recently had a baby so I do help with him as well. My duties includes feeding, changing, taking him for walks. Unfortunately this position will come to an end at the end of August. The child will be starting a new school program and my services are no longer required.
