My name is Rachel Sawyer. I moved to Rochester for the summer to do a Child Life Practicum at the Golisano Children's Hospital. I recently graduated from Harding University with a Bachelor of Science in Child Life. While in school, I worked at Shirley's Mother Goose Daycare and Preschool where I interacted with children ages six weeks to twelve years old. At the day care I, facilitated group time activities for children ages six weeks old to twelve years old, supervised children during inside play, outside play, naptime, and lunch time, and chaperoned group sizes ranging from six to twenty children in accordance with licensing regulations. I accumulated 1,200 hours working with children at the daycare. I have also been a Child Life student at the Arkansas Children's Hospital where I interacted with children with illnesses and special needs. While at Harding, I took several classes related to child development.
