Hi there! My name is Emily P, I'm 21, and I'm a senior at Smith College! I currently work as a teacher's assistant in Hastings, and I I have other experience in childcare and I intend to be a teacher after I graduate. Some of my previous job experiences include: program and outreach intern with a youth centered nonprofit, an accessibility and equity intern, a student helper at NPC, a mentor at ReadertoReader, various customer service positions, and babysitting/tutoring in middle/high school. While I have a passion for childcare, I study Government and Women & Gender Studies at my school. I focus on policy, human rights, and social justice in my departments; hoping to better the current education system and advocating for youth! I'm also very active in the performing arts, and I've been doing it since childhood and have continued to on with it through college extracurriculars. I sing Read more in an a cappella group at Smith and I also perform in musicals, plays, and dance concerts when my class schedule allows! I also do a lot of leadership work, whether it's as a musical director, an orientation leader, a student mentor, or as a publicity/business representative for campus organizations. People consider me to be a really welcoming and friendly person, and I'm known for being really positive and encouraging. I alway stay patient when working with kids (or anyone really), and I really like being able to brighten a kid's day while also helping them learn!
