I have nannied for one family with three children for the last five and a half years. Unfortunately children grow up, so I have to move on! I thrive off of the challenge of educating children. In my previous job, I potty trained two kids as well as taught the youngest to read and write. I enjoy coming up with new and exciting ways to get kids moving and thinking, with driveway obstacle courses, homemade scavenger hunts, nature walks and fun arts and crafts projects. I encourage children to learn and explore through imaginative play by playing dress up, building forts, and just good old pretending! I encourage exploration by asking "Why do you think?" and "What would happen if...?". I believe in teaching children to "be the boss of their bodies" and accept that they make choices and because of their choices there are positive or negative consequences. I Read more also encourage children to "talk it out" and express their feelings in a manner in which we can work through whatever problem we're facing. I've been working with children for years, even before my current job, and I truly believe it's what I'm best at, and what I'm meant to be doing!
