We interviewed Melissa, and despite the many red flags during the interview (constant complaining about the last family she worked for, not feeling like she was being treated like family, was let go without notice, was upset that she did not get Christmas presents or birthday presents from them) we were still prepared to give her the benefit of the doubt bc she seemed nice enough and was able to start immediately which we very much needed. Several days after the interview she looked up my wife and noticed that she had a good job (nurse) and decided that she makes way too much money to only be offering 15$ p/h for a nanny and sent me a very long, very nasty and disrespectful text message talking about how sad it is that we’re offering 15$ to watch our two kids and made multiple assumptions about how much we make and was just really nasty about the whole thing. I would have been totally fine if she just declined the job (even though we did waste several important days of our search on her) but it’s how she did it calling it sad and making all these assumptions about our finances and telling me she could make more working fast food. So my advice to anyone looking to hire Melissa, don’t ignore the red flags, they are very real and this is an absolute toxic woman. I’m so so happy she showed her true colors before we let her around our children.
