I am 23 years old with a bachelors in psychology with a minor in sociology. I babysat throughout my middle school and high school years for children of various ages (3 mo - 11 yrs). I worked as a behavior specialist/case manager at an inpatient residential unit for children experiencing mental health crises or trauma for the past year and a half. I worked with children who had numerous dietary restrictions, special medical needs, other needs such as managing incontinence, behavior and symptom monitoring, assisting with schoolwork, activity planning, recreational planning, and so forth. The clients I worked varied between the ages of 5-17 years old. This job provided me with the knowledge needed to work with a wide population range. I went into psychology to help children and teens in need and plan to attend graduate school (which I’m currently saving up for ).
