Hello, my name is Courtney and I am from Columbus, Ohio and I recently moved to New York City to further my education and advance my career. I absolutely adore taking care of children and I knew from a very young age I wanted to work with kids. I have 2 younger siblings whom I helped care for as well as 4 nieces and nephews whom I volunteered to babysit in my free time. This is what helped me to understand my passion for childcare. I babysat through most of my high school career for neighbors until I became a Nanny for 3 children. I was a Nanny for 2 years until I moved to Boston. In Boston, I worked as a teachers aid at a residential school for elementary/middle school aged children with developmental and behavioral disabilities. This job was the most rewarding, and it made me understand the Read more importance of early childhood intervention. I then started a position as a co-teacher at a preschool where I worked with 3-4 year old children. After I moved to New York, I kept the position as a co-Preschool Teacher and I currently work in a UPK classroom. I plan to return to school to further my degree in Psychology and have hopes to became a speech pathologist. I love to be outside and explore the beauty of the world around me. I also love to read, write, sing and dance any time I can. I want to give children and everyone around me a safe environment to learn, have fun and feel welcomed.
