To start off, I am 27 years old and I currently live in Dover. In my free time, you can find me in a coffee shop with my journals or with friends, sipping on an iced mocha. I also am an avid photographer and I am currently aspiring to become Tuscarawas County's first official "Food Marketer Photographer". I am very active in my church and volunteer Wednesday and Thursday evenings with leading vocals for worship as well as helping with the tech team. I am also on a weightloss journey and have been for the past 10 months. I have currently lost 70 pounds and I don't plan to stop anytime soon, so you can also find me at the gym or in my kitchen cooking healthy meals and snacks! I grew up in the small town of Baltic and attended Garaway High School and Buckeye Career Center where I Read more graduated with a certification in Early Childhood Education and Development as well as with a year certification of Teaching Professions. Upon graduating, at the age of 18, I moved to Stone Mountain Georgia to be a live-in nanny for a family of 10 children, ages 1-17. (I had 7 kids during the week and then 3 more would come on the weekends-all one family) My duties included housekeeping, cooking and preparing meals, school/sporting event pick ups/drop-offs, morning/bedtime routines, as well as teaching the younger 4 children preschool-aged lessons throughout the day. I then moved to New York and was a part time nanny for a family with two pre-teen boys, three days a week. I mainly was responsible for getting them off the bus from school, preparing snacks and dinner meals, and helping them with their homework if needed. I also helped with driving the boys to extra-curricular activities and sporting practices. I was with this family for three months before moving back to Ohio. In 2013, I had an opportunity to move to Soldotna, Alaska, where I became a summer camp counselor at Solid Rock Bible Camp for 12 weeks. As a counselor, I was responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of children ages 4-18 (each week was a different age group) and planning age-appropriate activities, crafts and lessons. After spending the summer at the camp, I got hired as a daycare/preschool teacher at Little People's Education Center in Soldotna, Alaska. My role was being the main teacher for children ages 1-3. I taught them fine motor skills, colors, fundamental movements (jumping, sitting down, rolling a ball, ect) and also worked with teaching communication skills through different enunciations and baby sign language for the children who weren't at the talking stage. I was also responsible for planning lesson plans every week for the children and assisting with the babies if needed, as well as the 3-6 year olds. My last nanny job was back in 2017. I was a nanny for a family from my church and they had three children: a 3 month old (girl), a 2 yr old (boy) and a 4 yr old (boy). This position was only meant for a short term as I was a student in Off the Wall Discipleship Ministry based in New Phila. I was responsible for assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, meal prepping for the children and taking the oldest to and from preschool twice a week. I want to be a nanny again because I miss teaching children. I have a deep passion to teach children the exciting things the world has to offer. I love working with babies and teaching them sign language to know how to communicate. I love being able to teach colors, shapes, textures, fine motor skills and so much more and to just see their little eyes light up when they learn something new! I have a mothering heart and I am tender-hearted. I have a love for children and I want to help take care of them and nurture them to become the amazing little people that they are. I'm sure you will agree with me, but as the saying goes "it takes a village to raise children" and I want to be able to be a part of that village for as many people as I possibly can and for however long I can, Lord willing. I look forward to hearing from you and your family!
