grew up in a large family that provided me with lots of younger cousins. This is where my love for caring after children began. I was always that big cousin they looked up to. Once I was older I consistently babysat for a family when needed for about 4 years until the older girl was old enough for them to stay home alone. Many of my previous coworkers have asked me to babysit for them so there are always young children in and out of my place. Within the next few years I will be working on becoming a foster parent and think this will be good preparation as I will come across a variety of families and children, and not just people I know.
