Hey there, I’m Tori! I have been working in childcare services in Toledo for the past 4 years, currently as an autism therapist (Registered Behavior Technician). I moved to Toledo back in 2019 after graduating from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, minoring in Public Health. I have been CPR/First Aid certified for over 7 years, and first became CPR certified when I was 12 years old so I could babysit. I got my professional start as a pediatric case manager at a community mental health center, often providing child transportation or visiting schools to assist kids in their day-to-day environment. Through that, I realized how much I loved working with kids and helping them to feel understood! I wanted to work more directly in childcare, so I trained to become a Registered Behavior Technician in July 2020. I’ve become highly experienced in ABA, primarily focusing on Read more the child’s interests to promote learning and building skills - both academically and emotionally. After about a year as an RBT, I began training other therapists to prepare for their credentialing exam. It’s been 3 years now, and I’ve gained experience with all sorts of aspects of childcare, including potty training, field trips, teaching in the natural environment, and the importance of play! I especially love getting the kids engaged in sensory play, like bubbles, paint/arts and crafts, and dinosaur digs. I also have tons of recipes for edible sensory play, if your kiddo still explores the world with their mouth haha! Outside of my professional life, I have a deep love and appreciation for music. I’ve been singing my whole life and also picked up a few instruments here and there. I also have found that my love for music crosses over into my work all the time! It makes sense, since I once considered pursuing music education somewhere along the way. I love using music to play, bond with, and even teach the kids! Music can often be a great tool when learning or remembering something new, so I like to use it a lot. I have a puppy, so I’m comfortable with dogs and helping with their care if necessary too! I can’t wait to meet your family!
