I choose to be a nanny because I have found it to be the most rewarding work. Each child is unique and special, and their childhood should be magical. I try to bring joy into their daily routine: in the food I prepare, in creative, imaginative playtime, in teaching concepts through play, when reading and looking at picture books together, within sharing the wonders of nature on our walks. I am calm, loving and kind. Always. I stick to a schedule yet am intuitive enough to know when they are having one of those days. Such is their world occasionally. 15 minutes of extra story time is sometimes needed before naptime. And that's ok. And I don't think a baby is spoiled by being held too much. That closeness is their only security. Nurturing their growing self-awareness of always being safe and loved is core to my time with them. Read more I try to keep things balanced: we play, we tidy up. We put away our toys before an outing. After eating we brush teeth. We line up our shoes when we come inside. Everything is learning about good habits and good manners. Though a bit rambling, I hope this gives you a glimpse of who I am as a nanny. It really is my calling and my joy.
