Hello, My name is Makyla and hopefully with my bio you will be able to see why I am or am not a good fit you and your family. To start off, my experience with children has been all over. I started working with children when I was 17 years old at a childcare center over at a YMCA facility. This facility was located in OKC where I was born and raised. I was in charge of caring for a multitude of children ranging from the ages on infant-12 years old. As I worked here, I received an opportunity to nanny for a family with 3 children, one with special needs. I did this for about a year then moved on to becoming a summer counselor for the YMCA and handled approximately a group of 10 students ranging from ages 10-12. Though I personally was devoted to this age group, Read more I was realistically in charge of the many students the camp brought in ranging from 5 years old to 12 years old. I did this job for about 2 summers. Since moving to Stillwater, I have still continued to work with children through another lens. My journey with children had transitioned over into the classroom. I am currently an OSU alumni with a degree in secondary education and biological science. My goal is to continue to work with children in the long haul but I am currently waiting for acceptance into a graduate program that will make that happen.
