Hi there, my name is Livy! I have always adored working with and spending time with children. I have wanted to work with children for as long as I can remember. The idea of influencing the growth and nurturing of young minds has always brought me so much joy. I began professionally caring for others in 2018, I worked in a group home with a variety of different individuals with both physical and intellectual disabilities. This job helped me to recognize the deep passion I have for working with others. One of the most important things this job taught me about was responsibility. Being held responsible for another person's safety, health and well-being has taught me a lot about myself and my vast capabilities. My experience, along with the skills that I have acquired, have helped me to grow into a motivated and multifaceted individual. My passion for helping others Read more led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. The knowledge and experience that I have gained during my education has further improved my ability to understand, empathize and communicate with people of all ages. Before moving to Portland in August of 2022 I was a caregiver and health care aide for a non verbal 11 year old with autism as well as other physical and intellectual disabilities. This was an incredible opportunity as I was responsible for full care, such as formula preparation, medication administration, assisting with tube feeding; which included the irrigating of both her g and j-tubes. In moving to Portland I got a job as a behavioral therapist for children on the autism spectrum. This job helped me to develop a much deeper understanding for neurodivergent minds and behavioral needs among kids. While at this job I was offered a full time position as an Instructional Assistant in a third grade classroom at a private school, this is where I currently work. I absolutely love this job and I will be returning next year but I am currently looking for a full time nanny position in the summer months before the beginning of next school year. I am also happy to continue working part time or as needed when the school year resumes.Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
