17 years of safe, engaging, skill building fun facilitation; supplemented with homework help, tutoring, and academic support... While attending university, I began facilitating recreation therapy respite for families adjusted by developmental differences. I also continued with the YMCA, YWCA and local youth bureau; all while also living and serving with the local volunteer fire department. Upon graduation I accepted a couple roles as Program Director, but soon realized that front line work was my truest passion. Since my work as a Family Advocate, Wilderness Therapy Guide, Kids Ski Instructor, "Manny" (Nanny), Firefighter, Alpine Manager, Mountain Bike Coach, Lifeguard, and Summer Camp Director for multiple camps, I have gained and honed a diverse skill set. My experience provides families with a compassionate, professional, fun loving, supportive, flexible, and nurturing care giver. Whether you need a one time “babysitter” or a commitment over an extended period of time, I feel confident that I can provide the stimulating and/or structured environment, balanced and tailored for your little people to thrive. Philosophically, I believe in and promote autonomy and democracy; encouraging choice, individuality, compromise, and teamwork. Ex: I do not believe in asking one to apologize, but rather explaining to them the relational benefits of such actions, and providing them the opportunity. Currently, I spend a lot of time in the mountains, tackling personal objectives; so though my location may be elsewhere, I may be looking to work in an area close to your childcare needs.

David was an amazing temporary nanny for our family and a tremendous help while we searched for a full-time caregiver. He cared for our two children (ages 4 and 1.5) with so much patience and attentiveness, ensuring they felt safe, engaged, and happy. Not only did he include plenty of outdoor time for the kids to explore and play, but he also went above and beyond by doing science experiments and other educational activities with our older son. It was wonderful to see how much our son enjoyed science experiments with David! David was incredibly reliable, always arriving on time and keeping us updated throughout the day with pictures and notes. His calm demeanor, respectful attitude, and genuine connection with our children made him an excellent fit during this transitional time. We’re so grateful for the care and creativity he brought to our family and would highly recommend him to anyone and would gladly hire him again whenever he is in the Buffalo area.

We couldn’t be more pleased with Nomonde and her outstanding service. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that she had a natural affinity for children. Our kids instantly warmed up to her, and her engaging and nurturing personality made us feel at ease. She was incredibly professional, punctual, and reliable. Nomonde not only followed all our instructions to the letter but also brought a variety of fun and educational activities that kept our children entertained and happy. Her communication was excellent; she kept us informed with updates throughout the evening whenever we weren’t home, which gave us great peace of mind. We highly recommend Nomonde to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and enthusiastic babysitter. They truly exceeded our expectations.

Hi! I'm a 25 year old artist, student, and experienced child care provider. I have spent 10+ years working with families as their sitter/nanny, in overnight camps, in day camps, and with after school programs. Working with kids and giving the next generation a sturdy, supportive foundation is one of my passions and greatest joys. Families looking for a nanny or sitter who have LGBTQIA+ or neurodivergent members will have priority with me because I have lived experience in these areas and can empathetically relate. I know it can be hard for these families to find child care providers, and all kids deserve excellent caretakers. I also identify as nonbinary and have ADHD & ASD (think Amelia Bedelia-- she was a hard worker but just needed clear communication)! I prefer meeting families and doing a working interview before agreeing to any long-term arrangement! Thank you for your time, and I hope you're having a great day. UPDATE 2/17/26: Currently looking for an occasional (1-2x/month) babysitting arrangement in NE Portland, ideally near the King neighborhood. Have you been wanting a dedicated regular date night with your partner? Let's chat!

Hello!! My name is Rostana, I recently graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Public Health and I am currently in nursing school at Linfield getting my Masters. I am hoping to become a pediatric nurse down the road. Caring for kids has always been close to my heart, and my career goals really reflect that. I’m CPR certified, I currently work in a hospital as a CNA where I’ve been for almost five years. Those experiences have taught me responsibility, patience, and how to handle emergencies with a calm head. Outside of school and work, I’ve been babysitting for about eight years. I regularly care for my younger brothers and often babysit for family and friends, so I’m comfortable with kids of all ages. A lot of my experience has also been from the Portland babysitting group in facebook(can provide references to parents from there if needed) I love creating a safe and fun environment where children feel cared for and parents feel confident leaving them in good hands. I also speak 5 languages (Burmese,Hindi,Korean,Malay, English) *looking for one time or occasional roles only Please feel free to message me if you’d like to connect 🤗

I've been a nanny for the past year. The family I recently worked for welcomed their second child, and they've decided that mom won't be returning to work. I have excellent references upon request. I genuinely enjoy caring for children and can also assist with light housekeeping and cooking.

Taylor has only worked for us once so far, but she was on time, very sweet, and great with our 3 month old baby. She was confident with diaper changes and seemed to enjoy snuggles and playtime, which is important for a lil baby. Her second shift she was a no-show, but I found out later she was in a car accident, so anyone reading my previous review should take that into consideration. I would definitely hire Taylor again, as soon as she’s all healed up

Hi, I’m Alayah! I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with kids through the City of Portland’s Free Lunch + Play program, and I currently work with children after school at the Northeast Community Center! I love creating fun, safe, and positive spaces where kids can be themselves and have a great time. I’m CPR and First Aid trained, super organized, and always attentive to each child’s needs. I also have my food handler’s card, so I’m happy to help with meals, snacks, tidying up, or driving to activities if needed! When I’m not working, you’ll find me exploring Portland’s cutest coffee shops, hiking new trails, or supporting local small businesses. Feel free to reach out with any questions—I’d love to connect. References can be provided upon request 💛

I was a nanny for two years, worked in childcare for 2 years and grew up babysitting for my parents friends as well so all in all I have 12 years of experience. I also have tons of good references if needed, and am finishing school for ECE and Elementary Education. CBR is in progress for renewal.

I am currently a nanny for a family I have been with for one year. I’ve been in childcare for five years now with ranging experience in educational and home settings. I’ve worked with many age ranges over the years and love finding creative ways to bring fun and education together in an age appropriate way for each child I work with. I have all certifications, several ORO trainings, and background check that are required to work within preschools. I graduated university in 2024 with my bachelors degree in education. I am good at multitasking and time management, both being necessary when working with busy kids. I find I have the most fun with kids when I let their interests lead what activities we choose to do during my time with them. Currently, I am looking for supplementary work to fill my days off when I am not working for my current nanny family.
