Hello, I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Alexis Reeder and I am excited to be looking for a professional nanny position. I am a graduate from Northwest Nannies Institute. Becoming a certified nanny will give me the opportunity to use my skills to further the development of the children in my care. Growing up I have traveled through 28 states by car since I was born in Mansfield, Ohio. I am the oldest of five, who was raised by a single parent, my mother. I graduated from Parkrose High School in 2011. Since I moved all the time adapting to new and different environments has become second nature to me. When I have the time I enjoy listening to music, writing, reading, and cooking. I have been working with children since I was eight years old. I had to help my mom by stepping up and taking on responsibilities as the older sister. During high school I took all the child development classes that were available to me. All the topics really left me wanting to know more, so coming to NNI was a natural progression. Working with children brings a true sense of joy to my heart. For the past seven years babysat and worked for many families and I still get calls to come work for them. I have also loved doing my practicum and working with the children. while in school I was able to take on many things at once and still manage to get it all done by the end of the day. I have always taken it as a compliment when families call me back. Northwest Nannies Institute has taught me many things. Through communications I learned how to get children to talk and express their feelings and I feel I can now better communicate with my peers and other adults. I have a better understanding of how children grow and develop and how to use fun creative activities that encourage their development. The classes have also given me a better understanding of why children do and act the way they do. This knowledge has really made an impact on how I approach children. Not only do I have lots of childcare experiences you will find me to be very responsible. I’m honest and I put my whole heart into my work. Doing creative crafts is one of my passions. I also have two stepsons of my own that I take care of and love daily.
