Hi! My name is Naomi Cassel, I’m a Portland native, soon to be a freshman at Barnard College of Columbia University next fall, and I am searching for an afternoon summer job from June until late August this year. I am fun, empathetic, and caring individual with over four years of child care experience. During high school, I worked part-time in a paid position as a dance teacher for ages 3-15. I have also committed over 300 volunteer hours in the past three years to the education of children in positions such as a science educator at Tryon Creek, a private tutor for grades k-12, and a counselor for the MESD Outdoor School program. Additionally, I spent the 2020-2021 school year mentoring a 5th grade student in science as a part of the Science Ambassadors Program at OHSU. Furthermore, I would be more than happy to take your children on outings that you desire, cook, and clean. I am also experienced with managing food allergies/sensitivities and can cook in order to accommodate those. As far as my certifications go, I have had a valid Oregon drivers license for two years and have a pristine driving record. I have also been double certified in CPR for both basic CPR and then Basic Life Support (for children and adults) by the hospital I interned for. If there are any other certifications prospective parents would like me to obtain, I would have no problem doing so prior to my work starting. It is very important for prospective parents to know that I have been studying abroad in Germany with a scholarship from Congress for the past year and will not be available to start until June 26th and I’ll be on vacation with my family from July 11-19th. Also, my CPR/BLS certifications have very recently expired as I can’t do a recertification until I’m back in the US (which I plan to do prior to starting).
