I have been a nanny and/or babysitter on and off for 15 years. I knew I wanted to work with kids for as long as I can remember, and my family knew I was great with kids from the moment they saw me try to care for my baby sister when I was 3-years-old. I have been a nanny for several types and sizes of families. My first nanny experience was for a family in Washington (I lived just across the border in Idaho, at the time). I started the nanny position in the summer for two girls, ages 9 and 12, and continued to work through the next school year and beyond. I have been a nanny/babysat for children ages 6 months through 15-years-old, and I have loved every minute of every age. The smallest family I worked with had one child, and the largest had three. I have Read more always worked with kids in some capacity, whether that was volunteering as a mentor to at-risk youth in middle school and high school, babysitting and being a nanny, or developing a career. Right now, I work with at-risk youth, ages 4-17, at a non-profit agency in Eugene, Oregon. I love my job, and love working within the mental health profession, especially with children, but I have decided to take my career in another direction. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Psychology, I realized that I want to help people in a way other than counseling, and decided to go to law school. My boyfriend and I are moving to Portland in June (Portland is another place that I have been a nanny). We are both continuing our education, and Portland is where we plan to do that. There are several job opportunities for me in Portland in the field of mental health, but working as a nanny over the summer would be my ideal job. If it worked out and was necessary for me to continue after the summer, that would work also! So that is a little about me! I am certified in First Aid and CPR. I also have several additional trainings that I attained through my current job. Most of them don't apply to a nanny, but they are beneficial nonetheless! I love the outdoors and I love the indoors. Among other things, I am a fan of dogs, hiking, dancing, sports, reading, writing, learning, and having fun. The most important thing to know about me is that I love nannying! Whether that is picking them up from gymnastics, playing a game, or helping with homework, I am all in.
