I’m from Oregon looking toward the east coast, with a decade of experience with children of all ages. I love to travel, try new things, learn something new everyday; I live a good life. I have held a full-time state government job with the Department of Human Services Child Welfare the past several years. I have seen my share of happy and unfortunately situations in my office job, and during the weekends spend time with countless nephews and nieces. Throwing their birthday parties, scheduling and chaperoning playdates. Everything from friends’ two week old twin boys, to 14 year olds who probably didn’t even need me around. Soccer games, swim meets, first steps. I’ve been lucky enough to experience it all over the many years. The feeling of seeing them grow and learn, smile and laugh. I find it rewarding. Being there for important milestones is something I cherish. Where I Read more am currently located it’s unfortunately not ideal to do full-time as a 26 year old living alone. I know everyone says this, but I believe this is what I’m meant to do, I just need to be given the right opportunity. I have two parents throughout life that are elementary school teachers, and in my earlier 20s I was able to spend a lot of time in the classroom, both pre-k through 5th grade. I thought long and hard about going into the teaching field but feel I can contribute my talents and values more with a family. People often ask why I don’t have kids of my own, but I feel I’ve been granted so much in my life I don’t need my own to feel complete. I like to help others and that’s my calling.
