Hello everyone! My name is Skylar and I just might be the person you are looking for! I have worked in the childcare business for a total of 8 years and I know that it is my greatest passion in life. At the age of 15, I started working at a daycare in Newberg, Oregon. I spent two amazing years with great children and staff, but after graduating high school, I took a job at the YMCA Child Development Center. After working my way up from a classroom cleaner to a teacher in the school age classroom in 3 years time, I decided to relocate to Tigard, Oregon to be closer to my family and focus on school. I was a live in nanny for another 2 years before finding out that I myself was pregnant! Since then, I have worked back at the YMCA until the birth of my Read more little girl, Iris, in the middle of July. Having spent the last 8 years raising others children, I am very ecstatic to have the chance to raise mine. Providing for children is one of my top priorities whether it be my own or for others. Because of this, I am looking for an opportunity where I do not have to sacrifice raising my child so that I can help shape and mold others. I am looking for a strong bond with not only the children, but the family as a whole where I can bring my child into the environment and create a family feel. I am a natural born caregiver and am very confident in my education, trainings, and natural motherly instincts so I am able to care for multiple children. I am looking for long term connections where not only I create strong bonds with the children, but Iris as well. Due to my previous jobs in childcare, I am CPR and First Aid certified and also have my Food Handlers card, which are all current as of June of 2015. I am also registered in the Child Care Division Criminal History Registry for Oregon and have many certificates issued by the Oregon Registry Online (ORO), which is required training by the state each year. I am very fortunate to have worked with children from infants to age 12 which gives me experience with any age. I am able to create after school curriculum which integrates fun projects in art and science while also helping shape their minds. I tend to focus on learning and mind molding. As of right now, I attend Portland State University but am enrolled in distance education classes so I have an open schedule. I would love to hear from you and your family to see if we could be the perfect fit. I look forward to hearing from you!
