BIO My perspective on childcare is very well-rounded. I grew up with babysitters almost my whole childhood, all of whom I remember- the good and the bad! I also grew up with 24 younger cousins so I was pretty much caring for children from the time I was old enough to babysit (which at the time was age 12) until the time I moved away to go to college. After I graduated from college I moved to Portland where I held various childcare-related positions including; Eco-friendly housecleaning, planning and leading activities at an assisted living home, cooking in a high volume non-profit kitchen, and as a portrait photographer for families and children of all ages. I decided to go back to nanny work in conjunction with focusing on making art. I was a nanny for a 2-year-old for about 6 months until I moved to San Francisco, where I continued Read more to sit occasionally for a range of ages. As I gradually made connections in the city I found a family who needed full-time help with their toddler who I cared from from the time she was 3 months until she was three. I then took a position at a tech company as an account manager, and helped my friend start and grow their e-commerce business. Eventually I found pottery, which has been my passion since. I have been lucky to make that my job for the last few years, but I need something more stable in this economy. Children have such wonderful energy and incredible imaginations. I truly enjoy spending time with them and have missed working with them. I like to get down to the child's level and explore and goof off, while maintaining my position as the authority figure. I have many additional hobbies such as gardening, painting, drawing, ceramics, photography, dancing, music, cooking, swimming, reading and exploring and hiking and love to incorporate all or any of those if they are interested! When I nanny I do my best to put myself in the parents shoes and do everything I can to make it so that when you come home you get to spend as much time with your child and relax as much as possible! This means that I am happy to help out with anything extra you may need as long as compensation is fair.
