Hello! I am a musician and nanny looking for a family that is interested in bridging these the together. The general practice of watching over your child/children will have an emphasis on private music lessons each week. We will discuss how many though, recognize that the more exposure and repetition, the faster he or she will excel :) A little about me: I completed by Bachelor of Art in Music degree and I have experience teaching private music lessons to children of all ages. Our goals together were discovering strengths via imagination, emotion, and technique. I am a creator and performer with my music group, The City Pines along the side of earning a teacher certification in the Alexander Technique. I am also volunteer with a local non-profit called Sunshine Awakenings where I help facilitate art circles on the weekends in public spaces. What I learned from my previous nanny Read more position is the home environment is a special, loving place. It's a space where children feel most comfortable and safe practicing all sorts of activities. It is especially valuable and easy to advance their growth in skills of music. I also emphasize balance to a child's life! It is important to have supportive people, nourishing food, musical guidance, and mother nature to learn with. In all, my wish is to help develop a positive, creative environment that everyone can benefit from. As for the music: I would like to give the child/children private music lessons as part of their time with me. I am a strong vocalist and intermediate piano player along with some baritone ukulele chops. Things we will work on is rhythm, music theory, listening, sight-singing, improvisation, and stylistic singing of their choice. As much focus as there will be, playfulness and simply having fun is just as important! My ideal family would be vibrant in the music where the children have already been exposed and wish to deepen their knowledge and confidence in music. It's a huge plus that the parent(s) AND children are eager to learn. I'd love for the children to have the desire to perform what they practice, even if it's a living room concert. My rate is 25.00/hour as this includes me working as a music teacher, but also a caretaker doing various activities that the parents would like. Private music lessons alone can cost anywhere from $15-40 for a 30 minute lesson. With a like-minded family, having a musician-nanny can create unique possibilities for a happy, healthy home.
