Hello! My name is Ali and I am excited to get to know you! I am a versatile and dedicated childcare provider who is always eager to learn, lead and teach. I am enthusiastic and creative and always ready to cultivate growth and development of myself and those I work with in a healthy and productive way. I absolutely ADORE living in Oregon, and as a true native Oregonian I live for outdoor adventures and all they may entail. As a lover of the outdoors I am not afraid to get my hands dirty or of a hard days work. I also love baking, cooking, drawing and painting, and getting crafty with yarn! I studied neuroscience and brain development in college, and my passion for understanding human development lead me to a career of teaching and providing care for children. I have always loved working with children. From the time Read more of my first babysitting job in 7th grade, to now as a woman in my mid-twenties as I assist in a kindergarten, nurturing young lives has empowered me and given me a life full of fun, growth, the ability to be flexible and laugh heartily. I have assisted teachers in working with children in a classroom setting, creating strategies to meet the needs of students and children both with general functionality as well as mental and physical handicaps. During my time in a classroom I also worked with teachers to develop nonverbal and verbal communication skills. Following my outdoor passion, I have been involved in leading children during numerous outdoor activities including hiking, biking, rafting, swimming, and more. I also have experience as a skills trainer for a young adult with special needs. I have worked alongside his speech pathologist and occupational therapist in order to implement therapies and practice general social and personal skills. In addition to my experience with special needs children, I have been a nanny for multiple families with children whose ages have ranged from 1-13 years of age. I have 10 years of experience being both a nanny as well as a babysitter for multiple families. All these years of care have instilled within me a deeper understanding and love of the free-spirited nature of children. My duties have included picking up and dropping off from school, preparing nurturing meals, developing healthy and effective daily and nightly routines, general household chores, and most importantly, the ability to laugh readily, play hard, have the most fun, and make any task (be it fun or boring) a great adventure!
