I have raised 3 children who are now adults. As a stay-at-home mom, I volunteered in their classrooms, chaperoned field trips, as well as headed many organizations such as Girl Scouts and After Prom Party Committee. Within the last year, I worked at a middle school as a paraprofessional. My position included working with developmentally, physically, behaviorally challenged children one-on-one and in classroom settings. I also was a staff member at a summer camp in the arts program for youth ages 7-18. I enjoyed creating hands-on projects with groups of 10-15. I put emphasis on interactive learning; utilizing books, games, and technology. Giving kids two choices, both which are acceptable to me, is a valuable tactic in giving children accountability. I put effort into avoiding negative words when speaking to children; such as no, don't, stop, etc. I replace "Don't hit", with "Keep your hands to yourself". I am comfortable Read more with housekeeping and kitchen duties in addition to childcare.
