A little about me: I am certified to teach Kundalini Yoga. I have been into singing my whole life, love to dance, take hikes, play in the water, love animals and care for aquariums. I have petstore experience and have bred and cared for various rodents and fish. I am willing to do petcare :) I have been babysitting most of my life, have 5 younger sisters,7 nieces and nephews, my own 11 year old child, and have experience in pre and school age care. I have passed rigorous background checks for Portland Public Schools which include full criminal history checks and fingerprinting etc. I currently am working for Vermont Hills Family Life Center Summer Camp which is where I have managed a group of children on walking fieldtrips, swimming, games, songs and creative projects. We are required to take a week off during the summer, and I want to Read more work lol hence my search on Sittercity. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I worked at Capitol Hill Elementary in the vhflc afterschool program for the 2017/18 school year, and had a blast heading 1 of the 2 creative project sections for the kids all year, in addition to playing games, singing songs, reading stories and playing outdoors. We made tons of cute fun things and I miss the kids dearly now that school is out. I will not be returning to vhflc in the fall unless I get accepted into one of their preschool positions. My reasoning is that my own child is going into middle school and will need more of my time, so getting off of work at 6 pm being a single parent whom uses public transportation, just isn't optimal from what we experienced last year. I am looking for babysitting jobs for the week of July 26th which is my birthday , (and I don't mind working during the day that day:) Monday through friday, with the exception of the morning of the 27th. I am open to staying in a position throughout the rest of the summer, and school year if it is a good fit. I am excited to meet you and chat about options! Thank You, Leah Reade :)
