Hello, my name is Elley! I started my path in childcare as a nanny for a local family when I was 14 and proceeded to nanny for three summers after that. I volunteered all throughout highschool at an outdoor education science camp in the Portland area called Outdoor School teaching and leading 6th graders, I also worked in a history camp for fourth graders, Oregon Trail Overnight. I am currently a student studying environmental science and education. I spent my last quarter doing an internship at a childcare center helping run and start an outdoor preschool. I helped to develop a nature and play-based curriculum and help run things day-to-day as well as volunteered in their younger age group classrooms. Most recently I worked my second summer as lead instructor for Trackers Earth, working with the four and five-year-old age range, leading nature adventures, art projects, story games and teaching Read more basic survival skills. I really love working with all age groups but especially the 2-6 age range, there is something amazing about the level of creativity and imagination in early childhood. I have a strong passion for connecting children to nature and encouraging science-based inquiry as well as encouraging creative outputs and emotional awareness. My plan for after I earn my bachelor's degree in Environmental Science I plan to get my teaching certification done to combine my passion for nature and working with children. I am CPR/First Aid Certified, am a licensed driver driving a 2010 Subaru Outback, and have five years of experience working with children.
