Hi, I’m Ruthie! I am a graduate student studying pediatric speech-language pathology. Prior to my graduate program, I worked in the informal educational field for 5+ years in a variety of settings. In addition to paid experience as a tutor and nanny, I’ve been an educator at OMSI, a naturalist in Alaska, an English teacher in Thailand, and an education and outreach specialist for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. I am a kind, compassionate, and creative caregiver. I love spending time outside with kiddos, exploring nature and going for walks and hikes. I also enjoy thinking of new activities to encourage children’s creativity and build developmental skills, such as art projects, cooking and baking together, and playing games. My favorite part of working with kids is getting to unleash my goofiness and creativity. My favorite things to do in my free time are spending time outside (hiking, kayaking, biking, Read more and XC skiing), reading, baking, and doing puzzles. I am a non-smoker, have access to reliable transportation, have a clean driving record, and am very reliable.
