Hi! My name is Rena and I'm 25 years old. I starting caregiving when I was 17 but didn't start getting paid until I was 20. When I was in high school I used to go help at the after school home work club at the elementary school across the street from my school and I loved it. I loved the feeling of helping the kids and knowing I'm making a difference. I would go every Wednesday that I could and help them with homework, administer snacks, and play with them. My grandma also had Alzheimer's and came to live with us when I was about 13 and I used to go downstairs and care for her as well. I would make her food, help her walk places, pick out her outfits, talk to her, watch television with her, and sometimes I would have to feed her.
