Hi! My name is Mia, I am design student at Columbia College Chicago. As the older sister of five much younger siblings, I have been the designated babysitter since as long as I can remember. What used to be a chore in my pre-teen years, now has been a large part of my life and hopefully career. I previously studied childhood development where I’ve learned so much about creative little brains, and how we learn as much from them as they do from us. Last year I worked as an art teacher at John J Pershing Magnet school, where I taught/looked after 5-12 year olds. I believe that every child is creative, they just need the tools and confidence to express it. I have worked with many children from different backgrounds, learning abilities, neurodiversities, and more.
