Recently I was promoted to teacher of my own classroom alongside another teacher. This role has taught and given me additional tools to my toolbelt. Firstly, I acquired my CPR certification, I learned first aid, I was taught about proper cleanliness using chemical based cleaners when children are present, and multiple other health/safety tools. This job also focused on healthy meals for the children, doing activities to exercise the brain, motivating kids with homework and teaching Read more them to read, write, etc. While I have been in this role I have also learned what it means to be in constant communication with the parents, always notifying them on behavior, health, appetite, concerns/notes, while always telling them about the fun things we did throughout the day. Not only did I learn how to tutor, I also involved arts, crafts, music, and outdoor activities encouraging fun and creativity. Camp counselor/ Part-time camp counselor I worked at multiple day camps, and overnight camps as a camp counselor. I have worked mainly with kids between the ages of 7 and 13 since 2017 for summer camps, arts and crafts, games, sports, and learning activities through a program called outdoor school. I also worked every summer at a church for day kids camp. Mom/ Part-time mom helper 2003-2021 Although I do not consider myself to be a mom, I did raise my four younger brothers as the oldest only daughter. I did everything in my household to help my mom raise all of the children. I learned to cook, clean the kitchen thoroughly, bake, change diapers, deep clean bathrooms and bedrooms, how to measure bottles, how to take walks with the kids, what to do during emergencies when they are present, and help my mom with shopping, driving the kids, packing meals and loads of other needs that were asked of me. I understand that working moms or dads need the extra help, I am especially there for those who need it.
