My name is Maddison, I am 27 and for the past three years I have been working in the legal industry. However, in high school and college I babysat extensively and nannied for a family with two elementary school aged children, and looking back, consider it one of the best jobs I have ever had. While I am still very much interested in law and a professional career, I have become increasingly more interested in children's education, health, and development. I would love the opportunity to nanny for a great family while I work towards my goal of applying to grad school to earn my MSW and potentially a dual JD degree. Taking these revelations into considerations I left my legal job last winter and pursued a full-time nanny position. I found a job with a fantastic family in Brooklyn Heights, NY. I fully enjoyed being a part of the Read more lives of their daughter 3, and son 5-6. I was responsible for their daily schedules from morning till about dinner time. I got them to and from school and activities. Planned fun and stimulating projects and trips for our free time and prepared meals and snacks with a well-balanced diet in mind. After some time, I adjusted to a live-in position to accommodate a changing work schedule. As a result, I took on a more of a "house sitting" role because they frequently traveled on the weekends. It was a such a great experience, and I was sad it had to end due to the families work schedules changing and, as a result, they no longer needed full-time help. I chose to take my change in employment to seize the opportunity to move to Portland, OR. I love the culture Portland offers and am excited to explore the next phase of my life. For reference, some of my interests are running, animals, art, movies, reading, interior design, Tudor history, travel, and theater.
