I have almost 15 years experience working with children. I have worked both as a personal nanny and for schools as a teaching assistant, lead teacher, and quickly promoted to assistant director for my knowledge of child development and my ability to teach. I have also worked for an in home daycare for 3 years after my first son was born. I have my associate Teacher permit with over 7 child development classes and I am in the process of returning back to school. I have had my CPR licence many times in the past and can renew it if desired. I am looked up to by many mothers (and fathers), as I have studied very hard on understanding how the child's brain works at each stage in life. With a deep understanding of a child's nature you are able to provide them what they need to grow. One of Read more the most important aspects of child development to understand is the relationship between the right and left "brains". The "left-brain", which makes decisions and balances emotions, is under construction until a person reaches their mid-twenties. The "right-brain" controls emotions and tends to rule over the logic of the left brain. To put it simply, the right-brain is why children have tantrums. Understanding techniques to ensure their left brain receives the proper exercise helps to keep the right-brain calm and tantrums at bay. So, over the course of your child's life, they can become all the things you ever hoped for: healthy, outgoing, strong, problem solvers who are good, fun, happy people! Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom and I home school my two children. They are very smart and advanced for their ages, extremely well-behaved and love kids and making friends. My boy's are age 4 and 7 would be with me everyday, so you would have to be okay with that. We enjoy cooking Organic food and go directly to the farm to pick up our foods whenever we can. We love hiking, art projects, music, and going to parks and the library every week. We check out over 40 books a week and read them all! We love getting exercise and going places to learn! By offering cognitive, physical, social and creative activities children are able to learn without being stuck in a classroom. If you are looking for a Nanny you have found one with a bonus! An amazing teacher who will enhance your child's life with knowledge through fun experiences.
