I come from a big family growing up with 7 other siblings in the household. I'm the oldest daughter of 5 other siblings. Being the oldest daughter came with a lot of responsibilities. Growing up throughout the years I spent those periods being the surrogate parent to my younger siblings, always being on call for my mother 24/7/365. Watching over kids started when I would do little babysitting jobs for my mothers friends, while they worked or went out, and that's when I knew I was good with kids, and loved being around them. I am First Aid and CPR certified, I also took 2 Childhood Development classes in 10th and 11th grade. Life with children can be unpredictable and I know I'm able to adapt to the situations they face. I am currently a trainer at BODY20 in Seven Fields, but I am hoping to also babysit on the side. I have a couple years experience with babysitting, starting when I was 13 years old. I am currently working the weekend program as a Certified Nurses Assistant! I was a nanny 3 years for a sweet 3 month baby girl for a judge and lawyer in Pittsburgh and quit when she was 3 years old as they moved to Florida! She was a bright girl that I taught her colors, shapes, numbers, words, talking and We went to the park, playground, walks and played games, hide n go seek built blocks, colored, started writing and doing anything else she wanted to play! We also loved reading books! We did sleep training and just started potty training! I worked with her Monday-Saturday 8:00a-7:00p! I used to work as a correctional officer and before that I was a direct support professional where I took care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities but I’m looking for a side job. I have reliable transportation as well as I car, I have diabetes training, I have my child abuse clearance, as well as the other clearances and I have first aid training. In the past I have also worked in daycares. The jobs I’ve had have mainly been where I’m taking care of people. I love working in the fields I have because I know that I am actually helping people who are in need of it. I’m not a super outgoing person until I establish a relationship with the individuals I am working with. Everyone will tell you I have a big heart, I’m kind, I’m hardworking, and that my biggest strength is caring for others. To me when you are working with individuals, especially children, you’re not just some there to be there. You’re an important role in their life. You’re there to help them grow and learn. You should be their role model if you’re going to work a job like this. Kids notice the way you act, they pick up on the words you say, etc. and I feel as though you should need to be a person that can show them how to have the upmost respect for others so they aren’t being taught the wrong thing.
