I first started looking after children when I was relatively young myself- in a big family, we all looked after each other. As I got older, I began spending time after school baby-sitting for teachers and family friends, and once I graduated from high school I had gathered enough experience that I decided to become an au-pair in Brussels, Belgium. I lived with my employers in Brussels for a full year, looking after their two daughters (aged 2 and 5). I assisted with every part of the day- in the mornings I would make breakfast and get the girls dressed and ready for the day, in the evenings I kept them entertained, gave them their baths, and got them ready for bed. On weekends and holidays I would go out with the family and make sure the girls were looked after as well. I also helped with some everyday housework, Read more as well as anything else that was needed to make sure the household was running smoothly. Once my contract in Belgium ended I returned to the United States, ready to offer my services to a new family. I have experience with both boys and girls, ranging from 18 months to 18 years. I do not mind working with multiple children, but three or less is preferred. I do not mind doing light housework (dishes, laundry, tidying up, etc.) so if there is something you'd like to get done but just haven't had the time to do, just ask!
