I am a 2015 graduate of Cedarville University, a private university in Ohio, with a B.S. in Biology. I have also completed one year of Master of Health Sciences at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. I have extensive experience with children of many ages/disabilities/challenges and as many as 5 at a time. Throughout high school, college, and graduate school (a total of 8 years) , I worked as a full time summer nanny and school year in-home care aid for a total of 5 families. I choose to be a nanny because the care, and education of children is natural to me. Personal Description: warm, poised, efficient, fun-loving, hardworking. I grew up in a warm, loving, and prosperous home in South Central Pennsylvania. In high school, I excelled as a leader, captaining both of my varsity sports teams, serving as Co-Editor in Chief of the Yearbook and Student Read more Newspaper, as well as the Student Body President my senior year and graduating Valedictorian. I love theatre, music (play the piano), and reading, cooking, and speak conversational Spanish. In college I excelled in the Biology department, serving as the Vice President of the Pre-Health Organization on campus, tutoring, and investing in a Freshman-mentorship program. During my Sophomore-Senior years, I was part of an In-Home Care Provider Team who served and aided a quadriplegic student who lived on campus. I also trained and received my Emergency Medical Technician certificate. After graduating in the Spring of 2015, I attended LECOM' s Master of Health Sciences Program, honing in my skills of academic discipline and my love of preventative health education. While attending this program, I taught pre-school aged Sunday school at church every weekend. I was brought up to be respectful, of high integrity, obedient, hardworking, and forgiving. These are qualities which I value above all and do my best to instill in every child that I care for. Manners matter and rules are concrete but fair. I believe very strongly that every child is different and in need of individual attention. I specialize in learning and adapting to children's specific developmental needs and interests, being gracious and understanding to all. As indicated, I have extensive experience caring for children with Down Syndrome and various Muscular Dystrophies. I am very patient and excel at encouraging and challenging these individuals to live their lives with as much joy and success as anyone other child.
